the funny thing is, we heard about this gig about a month ago (don't ask how, please!!) and it said it was sold out. have to admit, i found this a little hard to believe myself. anyway, me and my fella were grumbling last night about how we'd love to go, and were actually thinking of approaching touts to get a ticket (jesus, the lengths we'll go to for a comedy night out), then lo and behold, we discover tickets are freely available!

i've a feeling it's just going to be me, my man, and a couple of the arlington road pissheads.

Is it really Thunderbox? This gets better by the minute. Can you feel the power behind that name? I don't even know what his music is like. Is it stadium rock by any chance? It's never folk is it? Do you think his guitar does what that guitar does in Desperado?

my boyfriend just read that amazon review of the mighty segal, and apparently the segal does loads of blues songs, including 'dust my broom' which is a robert johnson cover.

my bloke is utterly obsessed with the blues, and worships robert johnson. hence, his terrified utterance to me a few minute ago - 'oh shit, what if i actually like them? is that a dumping offence?'
