Well I wasn't there on Saturday, but I was on Friday. So here's my mini-review of the bands I saw (not all of whom it was my own choice: Fightstar=Laughable Dashboard Confessional=Dull Guillemots=mind-blowing Subways=passable Fall Out Boy=two good songs Belle & Sebastian=wonderful Yeah Yeah Yeahs=superb Kaiser Chiefs=ok Franz Ferdinand=mighty. I saw a bit of Muse on TV too, and they did look pretty damn good. I'm glad I chose to go on Fri though. P.S Is the Hope of the States splitting-up thing true? If so it's a crying shame. |

Yeah. It may be controversial to like Muse on this board but they're bloody good live. |

Just got back from seeing said Reading performance by Muse, hadnt touched a drop all day so really needed convincing and they were absolutely amazing, far and away the best performance I have ever seen put in at Reading. Was going to go today for Pearl Jam but thought Id rather have that as my last Reading memory for a year. Hadnt bothered with the latest album but I'll have to go grab it now. |

Guillemots have always disappointed me live and you are bang on the money re: Hope of the States. Around the time of the first album I was expecting really big things from them but they have just phoned it in since. Muse did run a bit late but thats all a suspense builder dontchaknow, and I love the new Jarvis tune. Anyone watch The Fall, is he normally that cantankerous an old git? |

Well I'm hardly the most objective observer when it comes to Guillemots. But I do enjoy them live: ramshackle perhaps but still rather brilliant in my view. |
