Apparently, Pearce said that before he'd seen the video playback. After he'd witnessed the assault he hauled him into his office "for a talking to" and fined him 2 weeks wages and said to the press that "Thatchers actions were indefensible". Good on Pearcey I say - an honest answer from a premiership manager instead of the usual "I didn't see the incident" bullshit you hear from other managers. I know I wouldn't fancy a dressing dwn from Big Stu that's for sure. The actions of a pub player - nothing less. A shocker of an attack, and he deserves everything he gets. In with the intention of really hurting the other player, and could have broken his neck. |

To be fair, Thatcher's defending has always been criminal. Don't want to see the ppolice involved in this as their time would be better spent looking into the theft of £40K per week by one Danny Mills. |
