Excellent piece by Phil O on synchronised dancing (). Reminds me of all those horrible end of night discos where one minute you're grooving to the latest hip new pop sound (er, Hey Ya by Outkast) and the next you're faced with fighting your way back off the floor or attempting to learn very quickly the moves to an S Club 7 abomination. If anyone can pass me to a site that explains the moves to Reach for the Stars, I'll be a happy man...

I was only thinking the other day that I'd wish they'd do more vented spleen stuff and hey presto. Great read. I live in a cave and the whole synchronised dancing shite has not been lost on me, dear Phil. Even when I was young, when you're supposed to do a lot of formation dancing, I turned my nose up at it. If they rolled one way I rolled the other and did it piss them off! I was a rhythm revolutionist. Also the OK Go video is an acceptable form of synchronised dancing (if it's the right one i'm thinking of) They use treadmills and if I had to place it in a category I would say it was in the Napoleon Dynamite section. Not a smug face in the house. |

Oh God, save me from that! 'Jack and Jill went up the hill' - blinding lyrics. Did you sit on the floor and sway like a demented bird to those blinding lyrics, Bovey? Heh I did. And when they swayed right, I swayed left and so on and so forth. And you'd have the party guests who took the 'rowing boat' dance craze to a new level. All that was missing was the whip. With crazed eyes - 'No, you're going the wrong way!' as if we'd hit a musical iceberg or something due to my out-of-time arm movements. Mwah... |
