ross noble's entire schtick is to try and be as random and disjointed as possible in a "how crazy would that be?" kind of way.

his act is basically a two hour extension and disection of one of those strean of consciousness eddie izzard "random" lists that always include jam.

i'm afraid i really don't find him funny or endearing at all.

Ross Noble's act isn't clever or especially original. It doesn't always work. But he does make me laugh so I don't care.

He's part of the current comedy cogniscenti backlash against those they see as not worthy and/or derivative. This takes in Peter Kay (who fellow comedians have never liked) and the Boosh as well as Little Britain (have to agree with them on that one).

btw not accusing anyone here of being part of the comedy cogniscenti - though the good Captain may count- it's just interesting how the received wisdom is changing.

I don't remember a lot about it. It was moons ago but I remember him going nuts, running up and down on stage, pretending that he had this hoover in his hand. I believe that he personified the hoover, as only Eddie could.
