Ye gods! The bits where the Stones rehearse and record the track are reasonably interesting (I was amused by the way Brian Jones strums vigorously on an accoustic guitar, but at no point can you actually hear what he's playing). But as for the rest... Watching it I was gripped by a revolutionary ferver; I made up several Molatov Cocktails and tried to find Godard's address on the internet. I couldn't find it.

But I've filmed my search, dubbed lots of Maoist bollocks over the top of it, and it'll be coming out as a seven hour art-house classic later this year. The ICA are very keen on screening it, by all accounts.

No - I didn't know it was available and unfortunately the library here never keeps the giveaways so you can't even rely on them to steal it. I want to see the film, even though it's spirit of 68 bollocks - that whole time when students and the working class actually briefly respected each other (never happen again). I think that was the point when Jagger/Richards hated Jones so much they stuck him in the corner looking pretty with perhaps some unmiked bongos or acoustic guitar so they could get on with it.

You could always protest in Coventry, burn a few cars and break some windows. But who'd notice the difference?
