I rarely say things in Neville's favour, but if he did nowt else at the weekend he made sure that Beckham got taken off. You could clearly see him signalling to the bench to make the substitution while Beckham was trying to insist he could continue (even after his chunder antics he still hadn't learned that often it's better for the team if you don't try to soldier on...). I really don't think Sven would've dared take Beckham off had it not been for Neville forcing the issue. Of course Rooney got sent off a couple of minutes earlier and wiped out the impact. |
