after watching love is all last night and finding that the only thing i didnt like about them was the screeching vocals of the frontwoman, i ended up thinking on the way home about how few female fronted bands i actually like. in fact i'm struggling to think of any help me out, there must be some good ones |

100 fave bands only (cos 100 fave artists would have loads of 60s solo artists, many female): Siouxsie & the Banshees Flatmates Supremes Shangri Las Blondie Dressy Bessy Shirelles Revillos Detroit Cobras There's bound to be bands I've forgotten though as that was a 2 minute brainstorm. |

The Slits Hmmmm. There's plenty of others I like (Dressy Bessy, Ravonettes, Belly, Garbage etc) but not sure how many would make the top 100. Actually, I'm not sure I have 100 bands I like (as opposed to "don't mind"). Women in bands who should've been kept away from the mic: Julianna Hadfield Yoko Ono Women in bands we should've heard more from: Kim Deal. |
