Unless I'm mistaken, this is Cap'n Howdy's chief source of income. Anyone done it and have tales to tell? I'd like to try it just once for a laugh but worry I'd end up leaving the session dressed in a barrel... having lost my entire worldy goods to a milk drinking 13 year old in Arkensas.

I devised a system earlier on in the year, which meant it was impossible not to make money, providing you had an immediate method of assessing the odds, and placing bets - i.e. online.
A friend of mine, who is VERY well off, tried it. A few months down the line he was nearly £10000 better off, proving it does work, but then, realising he was making money rather than losing, the online bookmakers altered his 'settings' so the odds were not displayed. This meant he started losing.

Bad loser c***s, the lot of them.

God, I'm in a foul mood tonight.

What game was he playing? Or was it sports betting (ie, betting on footy, cricket, etc)?

I make my money (and sometimes lose it) from playing poker. This is unlike any other type of online gambling because it's the only one where you're not playing against the house - you're playing against other punters. The importance of this is that you all start with a level playing field. Basicly, if you're better at the game than your opponents you'll win in the long run. If you're worse then you'll lose. (Note: I say in the long run; it's perfectly possible to be unlucky for a week or even a month or so, but in the end the luck evens out and what's left over is the skill.)

Other forms of gambling can be divided into two basic categories: a) "closed system" games such as roulette, blackjack or slots where you can calculate exactly your odds of winning; and b) "open" games such as football or horse racing where there are lots of things affecting the game that you can't legislate for (the ref gives a dogdy penno, the jocky wakes up with a bad cold, etc, etc.)

In the long run, closed system games CANNOT BE BEATEN. The House, whether it's a website or casino, simply gives you bad odds and waits for the money to roll in. For example, the odds of hitting a 7 on a single-zero roulette wheel are 36-1. Most sites/casinos pay about 34-1 on single number bets. Therefore, in gambling terms, you are "taking the worst of it". In the short term, of course, you can get lucky and win, but the longer you play the more certain it becomes that you'll lose. Over 500 spins you might come out ahead, but if you're still ahead after 50,000 then the table's wonky. And, of course, there's no such thing as a wonky table on line.

Blackjack can be beaten if you card-count but that only really works in live casinos (where it's difficult to do consistently well). On line, the "dealer" usually shuffles after every hand, which destroys the whole basis of counting (ie, waiting until there's lots of tens/aces left in the deck and then upping the bet).

Experts also say that some video poker games can also be beaten (NB: video poker is not really poker at all - it's basically a type of slot machine that uses cards instead of cherries and bells). But they can only be beaten if you master perfect strategy - and that's not something you'll stumble upon by accident. You'll need a book and hour after hour of practice. That, by the way, tends to make the game very boring to play.

"Open system" games (basically, sports betting) can yield a profit. In Vegas I've met guys who made millions of dollars at it. I don't know much about what techniques you might use to win, but I do know that it's ferociously difficult to make genuine money at it.

Of course, for most people gambling is quite rightly not so much about making a fortune as having fun while you try it. I enjoy playing a bit of low-limit blackjack in casinos, but I've never been tempted by online games. For me, the glamorous/seedy atmosphere is part of the fun, and you don't get that playing in your underwear in an armchair at home.

Still, one of the good things about online gambling is that, because their overheads are so small, they usually allow you to bet at extremely low levels (there are online poker tables where the stakes are 5c/10c).

Sports betting online is not different to doing it down the bookie's - it's just much more convenient. And placing a bet is still the only method I know to make horse racing even tolerably interesting.

Good luck.

I always manage to double or break even betting on the number of corners and watching the game and counter betting when I start to think it's going to go against me. I haven't done this for a while though and they are crafty so they may have adjusted the odds so that you cant do it so easily.

Always worth checking the odds for 0-0, no first goalscorer, and half time draw-full time draw as they are all the same thing but often have diff odds.

It was a horse racing system that I devised. A staking plan, of sorts...

If you like gambling so much, then you should definitely try to play จีคลับ ออนไลน์. This casino is very popular among gambling people all over the world. By the way, Thais are also extremely reckless and willing to do anything to play casino or card games. Google some of that.

As far as I see you are full of skepticism. I support another point of view. I believe that there are really good casinos. For example, you can discover review here on one of them and understand why I support it.
