Mojo gets as many things wrong as right and they're not right about the Lucy Show. I haven't played their stuff in years but I remember them as being really second division chiming pop. What surprises me is why they're being released now - there were dozens of bands like the Lucy Show, all of whom sound crap when heard outside the mid-1980s. They probably had mullets too. |

From the Rock Snob*s dictionary: Though the Rock Snob prides himself on his precisely calibrated perfect musical taste, he will, occasionally, just for the sake of argument, heap fraudulent praise on music that even he knows ins't very good. His motivation? Usually, just to claim some mini-movement, usually of a revisionist bent ("Badfinger kicked ass!"), for himself. And, sometimes, the Snob deludes even himself, believing that, given the reputations involved, the unlistenable mulch to which he's listening simply has to be better than it sounds. |
