The Cowlcha Show is running a poll to find the greatest British design classic. There are two album covers on their list: Sgt Pepper (uncontroversial) and, er Power Corruption and Lies. Power Corruption of Lies?! Surely we can come up with some better examples than that? |

Pick any of the Smiths, particularly Handsome Devil, if singles are allowed. |

I always felt the Smiths covers (singles and albums alike) were a bit bog-standard. Take a still from an obscure, arty movie, add a colour-wash, and hey-presto! I don't think any of them have the iconic status of, say, Never Mind the Bollocks, which I would have as a candidate. |
