In the absence of a review copy, I bought it on Saturday and have been listening to it repeatedly. It's really good fun in a short-term way, without much follow-through (which was meant to be a wine, not pants, metaphor). The only people claiming it's the future are those cranially challenged peckerheads at NME and that comic that comes out with the Observer every month. Definitely worth buying but I wouldn't be surprised if it missed out in our end of the year poll. |

i get the feeling it will be the sunnyD end of indie, you know like franz or kaiser chieves. you hear a song on the radio and it sounds quite good but its a one dimensional sugar rush and by the time you hear it the third time you're bored with it. i'm a snob |

Not the greatest album ever, but with Pete Doherty's descent into self-indulgence and pretentiousness, it's nice to have a writer of such talent on the scene, and also topping the charts. It's good for the music industry to introduce tomorrow's writers to another style of lyricism than they would normally hear in the charts. "Have you been drinking?
