my mums friends husband told her he was going out for a bag of sugar, and never came back. really sad. didn't even post the sugar through the letterbox or anything.

anyway, some tips for this year.

or maybe the young knives. did an lp on shifty disco in (i think) nov 2002. did an ep too. i saw them a couple of months ago and was very impressed. got an 'unofficial' cd 'nolens volens' which i've been listening to constantly even since. recorded recently with andy gill. they're graham coxon playing elo covers. or something. i love elo.

special needs. not sure who is doing their album yet, but expect someone exciting. of course, they'll be there too. these guys are (insert word meaning the plural of genius. geniuses? geniuii?). and i can't wait for it

the patty winters show. they're my new babies. they're rock and they're pop and they're coming. all over will young's face (erm, except kirsty maybe. she prefers darius).

other than that, haven't been to many gigs because if towers of london can get signed then there can't be any good bands around at the moment. i'll let you know if i see any though...

Good to see you back, Stalin. I heard a similar story about someone who told his wife that he was popping out for some fags and returned 5 years later after travelling the world with the merchant navy. I guess he hadn't mentioned that he intended getting the tobacco from a plantation...

As for bands, well the Subways, Maximo Park, Go! Team, Bravery, etc all float my boat at the moment. Plus your Special Needs of course.

maximo park are one of those bands who passed me by and are probably too popular for me to be interested now but certainly want to see them at some point.

has anyone seen black wire? think they're from leeds

in a 'london taaarn' kind of think, dustins barmitzvah are quite entertaining, but not the future.
