The thing is with Smog, it's subtle. It takes several listens and then like osmosis, gets through to you if you give it the time and effort it deserves. The more you give it - the more you get out of it. This new album is truly beautiful. It's also refreshing to hear an album that assumes the listener doesn't need the musical equivalent of explosions and car chases to keep your attention. |

I haven't heard the new album, but have a couple of the others. Both start with a run of good songs but tail off - so the feeling described in the review sounds familiar. |
