Friday 10th September. 'Lost Club' @ The Montague Arms, New Cross/Peckham. Nice one those who came... bit of a crazy night.. The bass player from the next band up, Wet Dog, got knocked out by electric shock  We thanked our lucky stars it wasn't Elvira tho.. but the girl was in a state although she acted like a bitch after coz she was still in shock. After the ambulance came, The Dirty Pins [also signed to Criminal] saved the day, un-phased and kept the night going in rock style!

My band supported Wet Dog, nice bunch of girls and to be honst I doubt they would sue just out of spite, I reckon they probably did have a valid reason but who am I to say. |

Thanks to all those who turned up on friday to support the campaign. Court proceedings against the Montague are still going ahead. Wetdog are playing White Heat this Tuesday 22nd march at Infinity up the west end. If you wish to make vocal your protest turn up and shout out : "Save The Montague!" between songs during their set. Also let your friends know whats going on! Thanks again! PS if you have never been to the Montague Arms, get down there and you will soon see what the fuss is all about! |

Nah, i'm not going to do that! That's bully-boy tactics and everybody knows that verbal violence leads to physical violence - if the Arms did nothing wrong then they have nothing to fear - if she doesn't have a case then it will be thrown out - I don't want another venue to lose it's licence but what I want even less is for a girl to suffer any abuse for doing what she believes is right - that's why we live in a free country - well as free as we can be as a great philosopher once wrote... |

Hello everyone ! Lots of us have had electric shocks from microphones and guitars, they are painful but usually just that. Sometimes they can be fatal. My friend Javier told me that his friend in Madrid was tuning his guitar and he sat on some metal stairs beside the stage. Would you believe it : He died ! I tell you this because my heart's boiling in my chest with anger at you. The Montague Arms should have a safe system : the system they had when Wet Dog played could kill somebody. I came out of the toilets at that Kut/Wet dog/Dirty Pins gig to find my beloved sophie lying on her back with her eyes open not responding to my repeated calls "Sophie, sophie sophie, wake up" etc. At that point, she looked to me like she was dead. i knew already that people can die from electric shocks on stage if the electrics are not safe in the venue. The rest of the night in hospital i didn't know if she was going to die, i guess i was paranoid, but it was awful. The venue HAS TO SORT OUT ITS ELECTRICAL PROBLEM OR SOMEONE MAY DIE. Sophie applied for compensation for loss of earnings because she couldn't work for about 2 months. that is all she is claiming for. Electrical burns - of which she received 2 to her left palm, 4 to her right, one major one to her chest and 4 to her arm, from each bass string - are called 'full thickness burns', they will take more than months to heal. They still haven't healed. She certainly doesn't want the venue to close, but i can't see how a small claim for loss of earnings is enough to do that, unless the club doesnt have any public liability insurance, in which case they have been operating illegally. As her husband I'd like to see .... well, i can't write anything violent because it'll make this discussion even sillier - you english love to argue and get hysterical. A fucking phonecall to ask how she's doing would have been nice, the day after or something. If the venue had expressed any remorse or concern it would have prevented her from being persuaded by her friends & relations - who all felt aggrieved for her - to claim compensation. I hope this happens to one of you motherfuckers. |
