i've got to say i didnt enjoy it very much. it seemed much more record company orientated than it used to be and they had obviously sold too many tickets. wandered in to see mid80shaircutdisaster and then left again. went to see clor so as to be able to se sons and daughters, both of them were alright. by this time i was very drunk. up the road to the dublin castle to stand in a queue and watch people push in while the bouncers looked on. it was at this point that we realised that important people had silver wristbands which meant you could go in and out at will and plebs had to wait til enough people came out to even the numbers up again. artists i can understand but christian datsun??? just as we got to the front highlight of the night occured, as dominic masters came out to give his wristband to a mate and was promptly thrown out by the bouncers. only the queues cries of 'but hes a pop star' persuaded them to let him back in. the cribs were by far the best band i saw all night and their crowd were grear too. coxon was simply boring so we left again to see the buzzcocks. half the time i coulnt tell which song they were playing until the chorus - of course that might have been the alcohol. my mate who had never been before saaid he felt like the whole thing was a missed opportunity and there should have been a lot more little known bands, or not let on where people were playing so you had to take pot luck, or something.

yes beanie, in retrospect i can see that it may have all come out in a splurge. my only defence is that i was suffering from that post gig/alcohol self-loathing that you get .... just me then? :oops:

and no matter how bad your eyes are they cant be worse than mine on friday! winky thing (that i cant get to work)
