It cuts both ways. I'm getting heartily sick of political correctness; I think the comparison is offensive (as Livingston has acknowledged) but also valid and accurate. Right wing papers have no comeback on this, they dish it out often enough and should take it with a (smug) grin. |

His comparison was insensitive and offensive to a fair few people so he should acknowledge that and, to that extent, apologise. But he shouldn't apologise to the scummy racist rags that he dissed or to the journalist, who shouldn't be working for a historically anti-semitic paper if he has any sense of shame. Livingstone was right that had the Nazis invaded Britain, Rothermere and his lot would have been in the first rank of Quislings, goosestepping down the mall . The Nuremburg Mail and ES have just become evil purveyors of lies these days and it scares me that people read them and believe anything but the horoscope. |

Probably should, just to clear the air, but it does somewhat depend on the whole context - haven't been able to glean that from the news stuff I've read - why the "German war criminal" question in the first place? |
