I loved the first album - 'oh me oh my....', then I bought his second album 'Rejoicing in the Hands' and disliked it to start with, took about 3 listens before I warmed to it. The latest offereing will probably be the same, so far I'm not sure about it. The song with the pig quote is like a nursery rhyme with lyrics like "Little yellow spider laughing at the snow, maybe that spider knows something I don't know 'cause I'm god damn cold" and "I came upon a dancing crab and stopped to watch it shake, I said dance with me one more time before you hibernate and you come out a crab cake" and "Hey the little baby crow you're looking kind of mean, I think I ought to spit before you start letting of your steam for sure" Only Banhart could get away with these kind of lyrics? My brain is telling me to run but I'm too intrigued. I'll check out the Vetiver stuff... for sure |
