I have got a soft spot for Jefferson Airplane and Bobbie (or is it Bobby) Gentry. Agree with your list.

The quality already has put anything since December 69 to shame. Looking forward to seeing Chimes and Simon Love's selections.

I loved a whiter shade of pale by procul harum (local band actually) that must have been at the tail end of the 60's?

<the sound of cracking knuckles>

Bob Dylan
The Velvet Underground
The Rolling Stones
The Monkees
The Shangri-Las
Bob Markley (The lead singer of The West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band, made 1 solo LP to my knowledge "A Group", but it is a pip and a dandy)
Sly And The Family Stone
The Kinks
The Beatles
Tommy James And The Shondells
Os Mutantes
The Byrds
The whole Buddah stable of artistes

Fairly normal choices...

I didn't include Pink Floyd or Led Zepellin in my 60s list because I think Pink Floyd were better in the 70s and Led Zepellin (bar Rock And Roll) are shit.

Zeppelin aren't shit. And they don't really belong on a 60s list, seeing as their first album came out in 1969 and most of their material was released in the 1970s.

You're right about Pink Floyd being better in the 70s, though.

Beatles
Velvet Underground (I would have loved to include Nico as well, but she released solo albums sporadically throughout 3 decades)
Rolling Stones
The Who
Love
Nancy Sinatra
The Doors
Small Faces
Kinks
Bob Dylan

You are obscure Bazza mate. The Rag Sum States of America? New one on me. I bet you were delighted to be eating United biscuits in 1972 while watching Hereford United put one across on Newcastle United.
