I'd always understood they wore red 'cos forest lent them the shirts back when they were starting up - so perhaps mmore of a red claret?

This of course may not be true - unlike the fact that Juve wear black and white 'cos Notts County sent them a set of shirts which true.

Judging by the story it is their South London kit all over again - the one they turned up with in 1913 or whenever it was.

Must admit to liking the Newton Heath kit the rag scum wore a few years ago.

The Orient changed back to the Clapton Orient strip a couple of seasons ago. Back to red again the past few years but the O's always wore blue up until the 1970's.

Shit - i'm turning into an anorak!

The Forest story is true by all accounts.

Arsenal have wound me up lately though, they changed the badge when there was nothing wrong with the old one, basically because they couldn't copyright the latin on it. Victoria concordia crestif which means something like victory at all costs.

City had to drop their round badge with the Manchester ship canal and boat on it when they left Umbro a few years back cos Umbro owned the copyrights to the badge...

Dunno about you Bola but to me the O's should play in a white shirt with red V (or band). Distinctive. Too many teams play in boring red nowadays. Another example are AFC Bournemouth (my second team as I lived in Poole in the mid to late 70s/early 80s) - they should be red and black stripes but every other season they switch to all red tops.

BJ,
Anoraks corner...

That was the Clapton Orient kit later used by the rag scum and Airdrie. It came after the kit Kingstonian use now. We last used it a couple of season ago but was sadly spoilt by the sponsors name, feckin Bravo TV!

Note the years are wrong - they wore the one we are talking about before 1928! back to my stamp collecting then.......

From their site. Actually it doesn't look too bad but I maintain they should have white sleeves.

The best kits of all time must be either Scarboroughs black away kit with a skull and Black Death Vodka, both in white on it or St Pauli's Jack Daniels classic.

The worse? Most Orient kits of recent years or Coventry City's Chocolate away kit .
