Send them a demo tape or get a decent manager?

form a band, write some tunes, convince your mates you are the next big thing, spraypaint your name all around london, put out mock press reports saying how much peel loved your stuff (he can't exactly dispute it now), get someone official sounding to ring up the garage and ask if its ok to do an a&r showcase gig there, and watch them pull your arms off, or simply ring them up and ask them?

If you get a gig 'Upstairs at the Garage', then you can enjoy accessing it via the downstairs bit, behind the bar, hoisting yourself up into a hole then up the back stairs, with all yer gear.
It's quite a laugh, really. Just a bastard if you've brought the grand piano or the harp.

I've played at both up and down. You just have to find out who the promoters are and hassle them. They only care whether you'll pull in a few punters, so arrange a coach and bribe all yer mates...

Emma - just been listening to your songs. Top stuff - reminds me of Bikini Kill and the like. I really like short, sharp songs. No need to go over 2 minutes is there !!!

Suggest you send one of your demos to Sounds XP if you have not done so already.

The Bola quadruplets mime Bikini Kill's chart smash "A cup of tea and a slice of cake, Vicar?"

Listen to the first couple of Bikini Kill singles. You sound more like them than L7 and Babes In Toyland as I read about on other sites! Just my humble, muffled opinion. And I do like your stuff!

As for being deaf BJ I can still hear you whinging! Better leave my ear trumpet at home on Friday

I just don't like their lyrix or the way they sound...I'm not really a big riot grrl fan. I have just (after 2 years) got my head around the Babes In Toyland comparisons. I think I like my music a little darker. I don't know I can't really explain it

Maybe your mp3's sound garbled on my PC then LOL! Or my ears are waxed up again......

BJ - send me the demo when received!

Now that would be worth seeing...

For this performance I will be a puffin embryo in an egg
*adopts position for 2 hours with a background music of Stockhausen's "Ode To Ei"*

Have you gigged at Junktion 7 yet, Em? Surely every aspiring Nottingham rock combo has to pass through there... Didn't visit it enough when I were living there meself...
