TWENTYSIXFEET - Based in London now and uncoiling in a most beautifully moody glowing hopeful way, Twentysixfeet's power is in their understanding of the quiet. They glow, they light up the sky, they fill us with hope - "Fizzing frothing analogue flavoured sound-scapes providing the flight paths for flowing burning sometimes rushing songs that spiral and spiral and then spiral some more. Not a come down and not a rise up, just floating you out there in it's own clever textured way." Sometimes words just aren't needed... but those were my words in an old review that they then used in a biog somewhere else so I guess they fit...

65DAYSOFSTATIC - Most who have tried can merely hint at the depths this "thrillingly brilliant" band from Sheffield reach with their wide-open sounds. Melding seamless guitar shapes with ferocious drum 'n bass styled beats, live drums and c-c-c-computer g-g-g-g-glitch. A soundtrack to a new dimension, where rock, dance and electronica are equals. A refreshing glimpse into the future at a time when so music makers have arguably been far too obsessed with all things retro. To describe a 65daysofstatic live show is an even harder task. Viciously euphoric, frenetic, overwhelming, bordering on chaos and really, really loud. It's what the band thrive on and how they win armies of new admirers every time they go out on the road with their big sky rockets of musical hope. We have here a track from the band's excellent Monotreme Records released debut album The Fall Of Math.

LIVING WITH EATING DISORDERS - They're from London, she's a vocalist who's timid, then scathing, she thinks she hates you, she should crush you... Singer Andrea has a beautiful voice - a compelling, magnetic, seductive, soothing, biting, disturbing voice and when you think you know where the songs are going they go off somewhere completely different, somewhere deliciously unexpectely different. The songs are insecure, they could well be unsettling, they're certainly disturbing: LWED are very clever, there's a high state of musical creativity here. It's not often that something as rewardingly different as this comes our unexpected way... we can talk of things like Cranes, PJ Harvey, that Nearly God stuff that Tricky got in to when he was really at his creative height, even Kate Bush - but then this really is like nothing you've heard before and Andrea is only part of the intrigue. There's some clever clever minimal dark musical creativity going down - seductive trip-hop, playing with the silence between the fragile noise, occasional fraught guitar – LWED will (hopefully) be on ORGAN RADIO 22 – this is a never ending thing

SUITABLE CASE FOR TREATMENT - Five years ago Liam Ings-Reeves left the circus for good. His father continued to tour as a trapeze artist for the circus troupe Burlesque, whilst Liam staggered eastwards. Weaned upon performance of the weird and wonderful and possessing only a guitar and a voice like roaring thunder he formed Suitable Case For Treatment with Jimmy Evil and Pete Bastard, guitar and bass players, respectively. Later they shanghaied drummer Rican Caol from his world-wide touring with a folk band and
challenged him to get his head around their time signatures. Due to the chemically enhanced and artificially preserved 21st Century diet, the band suffer from Attention Deficit hyperactivity Disorder, preventing them from holding a straight thought for longer than a few bars they produce blocks of solid noise that split in two to form scouring heavy staccato metal riffs and in turn spiral down into gypsy jazz or country waltzes, with Liam howling like a furious preacher sending our souls to damnation only to then spew out the gibbers of a perverted primate or quietly mutter like a malcontent old timer. "Liam Ings-Reeves voice won't just peel the paint of the walls but will rot the woodwork beneath" The flavours of their music are bitter, tangy and searingly hot and the preservative that keeps it all fresh is the soundclash of influences and eclectic composition. Suitable Case For Treatment say they are as influenced by the erratic arrangements of Cardiacs and Captain Beefheart and the charm of country and folk, as they are by the weight and power of death metal and hardcore. They represent the kind feelings conveyed by the great country heroes Tom Waits and Johnny Cash. Gravely voiced stories of misfortune and woe and dastardly goings on in unwelcoming settings. A beautifully raw demo had us raving and drooling (and running off to a gig). You haven't heard anything like Oxford's SUITABLE CASE FOR TREATMENT before, you've certainly not witnessed anything like them live before!
