The Ordinary Boys, Eastern Lane and The Subways (February 13) LCD Soundsystem, Soulwax, The Go! Team, Juliette and the Licks (14) Hope of the States, Sons and Daughters, The Bravery, Willy Mason (15) The Tears, The Magic Numbers, The Dead 60s, Nine Black Alps (16) All gigs are at the astoria and on sale now via www.nme.com I know nme is the sperm of the devil on this site but there are some good bands mixed in there. Heard loads of good things about The Magic Numbers and Nine Black Alps. The Go! Team live could be a winner too. |

The Ordinary Boys, never has a band had a more apt name. The Dead 60s are good though, a bit like Ghost Town meets London Calling. |

Seeing the Dead 60's next wednesday supporting Kasabian at Brixton Academy (how the hell are they that playing a venue that big already) just got a job working in camden so will be going to see lots of up and comers that i wouldn't have normally made the effort for also if anyone can recommend any. |

The Magic Numbers are great, I've ssen them a few times now and all their songs are so immediate and recognisable and somehow manage to sound sound fresh and new. I just hope they dont turn into some hideous dawsons creek soundtrack but it seems they have good grounding so hopefully it'll be alright. They said that Keane were tiresome and should try a bit harder, yes Keane are an easy target but its nice when bands put them down, unless its The god awful Darkness making the comments. |
