Bony to City for £30 million. They're getting him cheap and he won't play much. We'll take the money though and invest it wisely.

£25m I've read. He'll be second choice behind Aguero but unlike Chelsea we often play with two strikers so there's a good chance he'll be involved a lot of the time. Jovatic and Dzeko are the two that are likely to warm benches (or physio tables)

So how does signing a £25m or £30m fit in within UEFA's financial fair play rules aside from a slap on the wrist in the shape of one less player to choose from in the Champions League?

Not sure of how UEFA calculate their rules but I guess they'll either make the deal payable over a period or allow us to claim some of it back through sales - Nastasic and Sinclair are leaving and will recoup about £12m

Seems Bony's new contract in November was purely a tool to remove his £19 million release clause.... :-) Apparently it cost us a million to get an extra £9 million. :-)

I see Forest are snapping up 'take a punt of yoof' loan signings all over the place. A lot of activity given the supposed restrictions under FFP. I suspect the rest of the Championship would be crosser if it weren't all so transparently doomed.

Still think we ought to trundle on with Pearce for a bit, just on principle really - despite the old saw about those who fail to learn the lessons of history being doomed to repeat them playing itself out nicely. As I said back after we ditched Davies:

Quote:
I think I can get behind the lazy crowd-pleasing choice with limited prospects of success. I think he and the fans have long since collectively agreed to pretend that the last time he was in charge Didn't Actually Happen.

Re Forest - Transfers are permitted on a one-in-one-out basis provided the incoming player is on less than 75% of the outgoing players salary and his wages are below the £11500 threshold.
(Yes I got my WSC today)

You will miss his goals though, Trev. He was the Prem's highest goal scorer in the calendar year of 2014, which is very impressive.

Be interesting to see who Swansea bring in to take his place.

We've already bought him. Gomis, was bought in the summer because we thought Bony was going.....

Ah ok. Do you not think you'll bring in another striker as well? Gomis scoring rate (through his whole career) isn't close to Bony's, not that he won't excel as the main man - I hope he does, as I like Swansea.

Gomis was a goal every 2.7 games in France, I think, not too shabby.

We've already signed this chap - Nélson Oliveira (23 years old) on Loan from Benfica. He's the backup.

We're after 2 full backs and a midfielder by all accounts.

Isn't Gomis off to Palace already if the back pages are to be believed?

I think he would've gone if Bony had stayed. He's not going anywhere, I don't think. He's been told he's first choice and to go and score lots of goals.

More about that at the bottom of this article....
