Now, I really like Darren Hayman but what in God's name does he think he's doing here? It's like the very worst karaoke.

A dire version of Red Red Wine:

Perhaps his latest idea is to sing about whatever thing he's just consumed in vast quantities

That is pretty pitiful, but I would have thought Hayman doing a Neil Diamond cover was well inside of his comfort zone.

It was a 'one off' fundraiser for the dogs home thing, I think.

I know he loves pooches and most of his recent art has included dogs but there still has to be some quality control, surely? I mean that really is terrible. It's like me saying sponsor me, I'm going to walk up 3 flights of stairs.

You'll never make it, Bovey. But I'll give you 50p a step.

I'd need clarification as to whether or not you'll be sticking to one step per stair or taking bigger steps and covering 2 or 3 in one go before I can commit I'm afraid. Also, will you be doing them all in one go or spacing it out over the course of a few weeks?

I'll require clarification that your Stanna stair-lift has been disabled before I'm committing any sponsorship.

I'm with Bovey - shocking. Couldn't even last a minute before making it stop. I could do better and that really is saying something.

Very very briefly. Political too. Became a sad covers band though and that was one of them.

Yeah from Signing Off to Geffery Morgan there's plenty of good stuff. Synthesised light reggae but with angry, angry lyrics. Don't think you'd get many bands getting in the top ten with a song like One In Ten these days. Even the first Labour Of Love was a decent and relevant album when it came out - bringing some classic reggae hits to wider attention.

Most of what happened after was horrid though.
