Unicorns are in fact real. One of the things labelled at The Bible for being a load of fairy tales (I'm not saying it is or it isn't by the way) is that it mentions unicorns. A unicorn is the old name for a single horned rhinoceros. So when it mentions unicorns, it's not talking about horses with big sticks coming out of their heads, it's talking about rhinos.

The Indian rhinoceros (Rhinoceros unicornis): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indian_rhinoceros

I am pushing it for getting to the first pub in time but the next one is so close it won't matter much.

Yay, Jim :-) I don't know if there will be photos of unicorns, Marg, but I will be seeing them by the end of the night....

Er great fun and an extremely sore head the next day.

Did you get home okay Cavey? You didn't really go on to the Earl of Chatham did ya?

Hi Bola - no, we did not - wise decision - ended up in a kebab house watching the Chili match for awhile I think - classy birds.

I was more concerned about you getting home - you had forgotten conversations we had only an hour earlier :-)

Great fun but Hackney is weird weird weird.

There is some stuff about the place we walked out off on Friday doing the rounds on facebook. I will stick it on here later topday. Just confirms that they are pretentious twats.

Yeah you were well and truly over the hills and far away.

Always willing to read remarks about pretentious twats :-)

The Bonnerville was upset that someone got stabbed and had the audacity to enter their establishment whilst injured. Sums up their pretentious establishment. We made the right choice in walking out . I see they have issued an apology but reading the comments here suggests the damage has been done. EDIT: They or the website owners have removed the most damning posts.

Oh I'd seen that and already commented on that. I did not know that pub was on the bar crawl list? Was that a spontaneous visit?
I've already commented on that on twitter. It pressed all my buttons. I think they took the post down but somebody had already did the screenshot trick so their disgusting attitude has been caught in cyberspace forever!

We decided to visit it instead of The Plough. I went in and laughed then walked out again!

Ah I see. Well the Plough was really lovely - quite small but really friendly - a really nice atmosphere and the prices were not bad at all. When we realised that you were not there we were going to just leave but we were sucked in by the 'niceness' of it all and had a quick half.
That and the bar staff were all male - six lovely, lovely men.

Yep the Plough is normally a good boozer but the last time I went there it was dreadful. Glad you enjoyed it though as it seems the night (pint!) I had in there was a one off.
