After Dave Stewart's failed attempt a couple of years ago to get the Marquee Club back on it's feet in what is now the Carling Academy Islington it has found another new home in Leicester Square. The first ten-day event, the breakthrough festival is, in aid of Oxfam, mostly free.
I booked up the amplifier gig and the final night in case of a big name, 4 tickets for each for the grand total of £1.50 p&p. The only catch seems to be that you have to be in the venue by 9, plus you will prob be hounded to donate to make trade fair whilst you are in there. Worth a go, methinks.
