Don't know if you noticed, but once again on Saturday the Great British Public reminded us that they ought to be rounded up like cattle and shot like pigs. Their latest crime against sanity was voting for an all time Super Group as the climax to the slight but enjoyable "I'm in a Rock 'n' Roll Band" series. The Frankenstein's Monster they created was: Vocals: Freddie Mercury Guitar: Jimi Hendrix Bass: Flea Drums: John Bonham Oh dear. Surely we can do better than that! Here's a first attempt: Vocals: Sade Guitar: John McLaughlin Bass: Mark King Drums: Evelyn Glennie Oh dear. Oh dear.... |

Main gripe with this silly list; the narrow minded, backward thinking view that a 'super group' must only contain drums, vocals, guitar and bass. How fucking boring is that? very fucking boring. No wonder noone gives a toss about pop music any more. With this in mind here is my indie super group called How Wrong Is This: Vox - Nick Cave Violin - Owen Pallet Viola – John Cale Guitar / b.vocals – St Vincent Piano/ Keys / b.vocals – Jerry Lee Lewis Drums – Greg Saunier or if he’s available Banjo / b.vocals - Dave Day Bass: Trevor Bolder ‘cos of the awesome side burns: Jean Piere Massiera would produce the album.
