That's awful. Great great showman from the Iggy school of entertainer. Saw the band once in the all seater Hammy Odeon and thyer were maginificent. And he got his chobblers out which is what it should all be about. |

very sad news. I'd planned to go and see them at the Astoria a year or so ago but couldn't go in the end, wish I'd cancelled whatever it was that prevented me from going now. |

WFMU as usual are the only radio station to show proper respect at the loss of a true great. http://www.wfmu.org/playlists/shows/30256 http://www.wfmu.org/playlists/shows/30250 36 Cramps tracks across 2 shows Expect other DJs will pay tribute on their shows as the week goes on. Think BBC 6 Music managed 4 Cramps tracks all day, with only Gideon Coe deeming more than one song to be appropriate. |

it should be on the fucking news, the amount they contributed to popular culture. bizarre to think that if Pete Doherty or Amy Winehouse actually took some proper drugs and died it'd be WORLDWIDE news, whereas this just gets mentioned in niche media. just the fact that The Cramps existed for 6 years before they got to put a record out is wildy inspiring in this day and age! and then the longevity they showed following it makes me feel very humble. they had a magic formula between them. |

know what you mean, jose. Fantastic band but just as importantly, a portal to stuff i never knew existed. |
