Has anybody got something that they will not sell no matter how hard life gets? Mine is this old fashioned record player that this elderly lady gave to me. I spent one afternoon with her, telling stories/singing to her/making her tea and crumpets and when I was leaving she insisted I have this player. I told her I couldn't take it but she bloody insisted like Catherine Tate's nana character. Probably slagged me off rotten when I took it 'Cheeky bastard - one afternoon cost me an antique player, the dirty slut' Anyway i've no idea if she's dead or alive now but I will not part with the player even though I know it's worth in the region of £700 (that was without speakers - i've got the speakers too) because somebody with an interest in such things went away and researched it. It's got loads of tubes at the back of it and i've no idea how the thing functions but i'm never gonna sell it. *throws another broken chair onto the makeshift fire as the electricity has been cut off. Thank god it's summer* |
