"In any normal circumstance I would advise you to avoid this man like the plague but he’s only actually 3’ 6” in real life and mildly pleasant to boot"

Is James S suggesting we hoof the little fella? I can see the appeal but surely we should not encourage kicking performers, even bloody rubbish ones ... sorry I mean leftfield and quirky ones.... like him...

There's a thin line between genius and spaffing knobcheese. I'm not sure Plantpot manages to bridge the divide...

Less a man, more a force of nature, he's a punk rock genius to boot! I'd put him with Michael Gira, Jim Thirlwell, Genesis P Orridge, Ivor Cutler, Thomas Edison even in hearing music in a new way!

I also think that Enid's review was one of the best I've read in months - very respectful of the SP's talents, if not of his stature. So killing him would be unworthy of the SP - I think a song would be a much better rebuttal, if one's needed!

For the uninitiated, the Spinmaster is meant to be appearing at Rough Trade Covent Garden tomorrow afternoon. Your life will be changed by seeing him, believe me.... [/i]

were you the **** at the back shouting "judas" when dylan went electric?

explaining the genius of spinmaster plantpot is like trying to explain colour to a blind man.

everyone's entitled to their opinion of course
and because of the extreme nature of my stuff, of course i put my neck on the line when i send people a cd / they review a gig
i think james hasn't really listened to some of the lyrics on the non screaming songs, but it's of course likely that he has and doesn't like them. and that's fair enough. i've got plenty of devotees and followers ...inc. jimmy possession..he of robots and electronic brains fanzine.
i like my stuff cos it's genuinely something different. not just the same old track and fieldy 60s inspired guitar bumph...altho i have been known to like this too.
each to their own at the end of the day.

Paul,

As I would have explained to you on Saturday had I gotten into the Trachtenberg Family gig, the review was written completely tongue in cheek. I'm sorry that it didn't come across this way on screen - it's a perennial thorn in my side with text based comment that it's impossible to get tone across if you don't have a bunch of smileys there to illustrate it.

I find your stuff amusing and interesting because I actually know and, SHOCK HORROR, like you. I honestly can't say what I'd make of it exactly if I didn't know you.

The review was really a piss-take, to a large degree. I don't personally believe that your act is something that people should be too serious or earnest about.

Just my opinion...

You on GMTV? Oh yes, that would be good. You could headbutt that smarmy rags supporting twat Eamon Holmes for me whilst on there. Suspect they'd have to be pretty short of G-list celebs though on that day for you to appear. They like a human interest angle and I'm not sure shouting in a vaguely rhyming way qualifies.... Maybe you need to get the Plague and vow to cycle round the world on a unicycle naked first...

The players and singers, all have to jump on the stage to make their acts felt by the others as well so this jumping all brings a lot of injuries as well bu the viewers want to see their stars performing so they need to be fit and the best among their viewers to gain more fame.
