Blondie @ Bournemouth Stateside c1980 (a tiny venue and a warm up gig one Xmas before they played their only 2 UK gigs that year in London and Glasgow) The Cure c1982 in Bristol The Pixies loads of times in late 80s Ditto Pogues U2 c1982 in Portsmouth. Met them after gig. The Smiths and loads of others at the free Jobs for a Change gig in Jubilee Gardens about 1984. Right wing skinheads attacked the Redskins at the gig. The Strokes @ Heaven pre-global domination. The Jam (who I met after gig once), SLF, Siouxsie, Undertones, XTC, Specials, The Beat, in Poole and Bournemouth around 1980/81 The Libs around What A Waster single then loads more gigs. Oasis @ New Cross Venue pre-first album. Spinmaster Plantpot @ The Bull & Gate before he sold out and started appearing on TV. |

Oasis at the Astoria in Cardiff Dec 94- Liam stalked off during Up In The Sky after threatening someone in the front row for throwing bottles at him. At one point he had a foot on the stage and a foot on the barrier swinging punches at the fellow. When they actually were dangerous. Menswe@r at Glamorgan Uni 95- Just me and my friend Marc going mental at the front whilst the rest of the crowd were about 4 paces behind us. Pulp on the 23rd floor of the Park Lane Hilton hotel for the release of This Is Hardcore- Sometimes being a member of a fanclub is a good thing. Free booze, free signed copy of said LP and a whole galaxy of stars. Zoe Ball, Jamie Theakston (who I wee'd next to) and Danny from Supergrass (who I drunkenly ran into) but sadly no Marie Du Santiago my pop star crush of the time. Bob Dylan at the CIA in Cardiff 2002- Liz and I got right to the front and threw a copy of Just Like Bobby D onstage. He was staring right at it for about 2 songs and then a roadie came on and threw it and a load of other crap that people had thrown onstage off. Heartbreaking. |
