A thread devoted to the bizarre and faintly disturbing world of pop. I was doing a youtube search for Kate Bush (er, you don't want to know why...) and it came up with a performance she did on a Dr Hook Show in 1980. Those useless twats got their own show! (sorry to any young uns on here who don't know who Dr Hook were... You are lucky) |

I adore Dr Hook. Please leave them alone. I always pondered over the lyrics - 'when you're in love with a beautiful woman, it's hard' (I used to think he meant difficult, as everybody loved her, but now I think it's undercover erection talk) |

my dad has a dr hook cd. i let him listen to it because at least it actually is dr hook. he's prone to coming home with cds by "just like the eagles" or "a tribute to shakin' stevens by rockin' reeves". he is usually totally oblivious to the fact that he's been listening to a clearance bin tribute to his favourite acts and judging by his indifference when i point it out he really couldn't give a shit. i get all my taste and musical prowess from my dad. |

Back to the original point of the thread. #2 - Nash the Slash A performer, circa 1980, who appeared entirely swathed in bandages. Famously electrocuted himself on stage around that time. Maybe the bandages was just a premonition? |
