Whilst the ol' Bill are preventing the people of Devon following in the traditions of looting goods from a beached vessel some items have ended up on e-bay. Like and erm !. |

from lyme bay to e-bay in one day apparently the police were just handing out forms to people for them to declare their finds, as its not illegal to salvage it just to keep it |

Well no because something has to be in what I call 'a state of grace' to decline and us humans are an atrocious species (sorry i've been watching the spanish inquisitions and it's depressed me) I don't know, Matty, it reminds me of the whole New Orleans disaster. When confronted with tragedy the last thing on my mind is how to gain from it. I could go into my whole 'There has always been two tribes in society since the dawn of time' philosophical speech but it puts insomniacs to sleep, heh. I was just having a moan. |

fair enough. i do wish they hadn't made such a fucking mess of the place though, setting fire to stuff and scattering people's personal belongings all over the place. that's pretty crappy. especially when there's well meaning retired teachers down there trying to shampoo cormorants and stuff. the looting itself i couldn't care less about. i just think that looting is no excuse for not closing gates and picking up your litter etc. it is pretty shitty what they've done to the place. there was one bloke on the news yesterday who had driven overnight from fuck knows where, managed to get a gearbox from an unidentified make of car, which he dragged using a knackered car-door as a sled up the cliffs which took him like 13 hours of something. he then spent half the day asleep on a freezing bench recovering from the exertion... SCORE! |
