I swear that this world has gone mad. I am so tired of this whole racist society malarky now. I've said it once and i'll say it again, my parents were Irish immigrants - my father was shunned everywhere he went when he came here. He got on with it and eventually he blended in. He died in this country, he loved this country, he never moaned. He never reproached his 'shunned' years. He made me the individual I am today. If you line up all of my friends, we're from all walks of life - we're like a bunch of liquorice allsorts and not once do we discuss what divides us - we embrace what joins us. If you want to be a victim you will be. People use colour/gender/belief/sexuality/add your own, everyday, as an excuse for not being where they want to be in life - well if you're not where you want to be in england today it's because you did not try hard enough or the odds were stacked at that time. Yes, there was a time in history where you could bloody cry at the atrocities committed through 'difference' and yes, it still goes on but not in Blighty - not on that scale. Everybody is discriminated against and everytime the media focus on just one area of discrimination they belittle all other areas and the grief it can bring..and breathe...what about chubbists?/accentists?/againstsunreaderists?/createyourownists...
Sorry for the rant but i'm sick to death of it. It's hard for me to live in this world as an individual.
