There seems to be some good things on this year so much so I am actually going out on NYE for the first time in years. I am off to How Does It Feel To Be Loved which is sold out but some tickets are surfacing on their forum. Lucky Soul have their Lucky New Year night which looks good as well. |

Discovered a rather lovely little club night called Uptight (at The Albany on Great Portland Street) the other week and they're having a New Year's bash... http://www.uptight.org.uk/ I've never been "out" out on New Year... normally gets to the 30th and me and me mates are like "FUCK what we gonna do???" Always end up finding someone's gaff to get wrecked in though... I think I'd rather see it in with satsuma's and Jools than venture out in London though... fuck that! |

Hear hear, Westie. What you find with NYE are people who don't normally go out. The drinks are over priced and watered down and you have to pay into places that are normally free. The best NYE I ever had was on my own, in my flat at the time one year, with 'A different class' playing on a loop while I drunk my way through an assortment of alcohol and collpased on my livingroom floor. No arses in my way and no queue for the very much needed loo. Bliss. |

Now that's the way to bring in the New Year Cavey, I like. Think the best one I had was the Millenium actually when I were 16... me and 2 other Manics obsessed pals went round a mates house, sat in front of the telly chuggin beer and listening to everything by the Manics we collectively owned, then at midnight necked some champagne and legged it up his street shouting goodwill at any poor fucker that came our way... Seriously, having 3 pissed and ugly-as-sin Manics fans hugging randoms in the street must've really ruined some poor sods' night... Then I remember chucking my guts up in the garden of the lass who was then the "fittest bird in our school" or something... my kinda night. |

hmmm when i was a bit younger all my mates from school always wanted to go to these real banging house clubs and i always went because... well it was that or sit in watching telly with mum and never see my friends. i was about as close to the indie kid at school as anyone so there was no alternative scene to really gravitate towards. just me sitting there with my long hair and a headfull of the beatles watching drunk fred perrys circle an orange bint in a glittery dress, pint in each hand while the the sweaty walls reverberate with the bang-bang-bang of hard house and hateful club classics. i'd literally be counting the hours till i could leave. i fucking hate house music and fucking hate house music clubs. i hate the people that like them and sometimes i think that if my friends hadn't been my friends then i would have hated them too. in fact, looking back at it know; i hate myself for forcing myself to endure a culture and music i hated for so long in order to stay close to my friends. these days though it' usually a party somewhere. this year it's a rubic's cube themed one. you go wearing all six colours and have to leave wearing all one colour. that's the idea anyway. sounds like fun. |

I'm going to have a few drinks with friends and toddle along to Hampstead Hill/Heath with a bottle of wine and look over London as it turns midnight, should be nice. Everytime I've been out proper on NYE it has been dreadful. |

I can't divulge what I'm up to, due to reasons which will become apparent next year. But have a good one. |
