The Sailplanes, The Deepest Red Now downloadable in it's entirety. Have a listen if your definition of art rock doesn't end with Artrocker and if your appreciation of new music goes slightly further than that covered by the NME. |

I love The Sailplanes, but I think they're selling themselves short by using the term "art rock". They're better than all that trendy rubbish. Their influences seem to be more Sonic Youth/Sleater Kinney/MBV/Weddoes than Wire/XTC/Gang of Four/Joy Division/boring cliches. |
