In the late 80's I was mates with the guy who ran the Stranglers fanzine. He Picked me up in his black taxi one evening to go to the pub and I was greeted by this man and his 'bird' at the time, sitting on the back seat...

We went to The Kings Head, Harrow on the Hill for a most enjoyable evening of booze. Happy Days!

I went back stage to meet a) The Jam (Poole about 1980) and b) U2 (Portsmouth about 1982) at gigs. Didn't shag them but chatted and got autographs. Unfortunately autograph a) was on a £1 note and I was a school kid so I had to spend it a week later... :oops:

and b) was on the cover of October and I gave it to a girl who I fancied at the time... didn't even get a snog back for my efforts.

Both would be worth a few bob now...

I met my hero at Glasto... Arthur Smith. Was just standing there shitfaced on the Thursday by some noodle thing or other and he drifts past... I'm like, "Arthur Smith...
