had my first road-rage slanging match of the month this morning - i was coming down st john's street towards smithfields in front of all the traffic and bikes that had just pulled away from the crossroads at clerkenwell road and this guy just walks out into the road about 20 metres in front of me. i think he was on the phone. i'm looking at him thinking; "he's going to look in a sec, he's going to look in a sec" and he just didn't. he just kept sauntering across the road. it got so i didn't know whether to go in front of or behind him (you never know which way people are going to jump when they're surprised), i couldn't find my bell in time so as i was bearing down on him at quite a rate with all these cars and bikes coming up behind me i shouted "OI-OI-OI!" both as a sort of wordless noise of alarm on my part (i nearly came a cropper avoiding him) and a kind of "LOOK OUT MATE YOU'RE ABOUT TO BE RUN OVER" bulletin as i dodged past him and get this: he turns around and shouts "FUUUUCK OFF!" at me! i couldn't believe it! i was trying to help the guy! i nearly went arse over tit as result of his idiocy too. so being the razor tongued wit i am at that time in the morning when late for work i turned round, gave him the finger and yelled an indignant "FUCK YOU!" at him. that usually does the trick. not this guy though. he came back quick as a flash with a deft and pretty definitive "BOLLOCKS! CUNT!" dammit. he got the last word. but by then though i was pretty much out of earshot and approaching a zebra crossing at quite a rate of knots so it probably would have been folly to continue the debate over my shoulder. i couldn't believe it though!

what's wrong with some people?

As a pedestrian I can say I hate anything that is not on foot. We pedestrians are treated like the lepers of the streets. The lorry heads look down on the busheads the busheads look down on the white van heads the white van heads look down on the black cabbie heads the black cabbie heads look down on the unlicensed cab driversheads the unlicensed cab driversheads look down on the carheads the carheads look down on the bikerheads the bikerheads look down on the scooterheads the scooterheads look down on the cyclistheads the cyclistheads look down on the skateboarderheads the skateboarderheads look down on the rollerskaterheads the rollerskaterheads look down on the pedestrianheads...
