Moast gigs are performed in front of suitable audiences, band members and general alternative types. White Man Kamikaze's show at The New Cross in was an exception to that rule. The night started with a mugging and ended with a street confrontation with a man who had been ejected from the gig due to abusive behaviour. As the night progressed it was clear that the boys were going to be playing to a Reebok Classic wearing crowd of late night drinkers who had little or no interest in music. The band took to the stage around midnight after heavy metal buffoons The Voice refuse to kit share, frantic phone calls were made and finally a drum kit was procured. The band opened with the train-crash pop of Judas Attack, singer Marco screaming "This is not my generation" at the Chav massive who were indifferent but curious. After three songs the crowd had started to take an interest in what was unfolding before their eyes, the now legendary singer/drummer exchange took place and Jimmy mounted a table for the classic Robot Dogs, chav eyes were by now totally fixed on the band. The promoter informed the band that they were only allowed one more song and they replied by crashing into the wiry menace of Noble Snipers, Jimmy asking "What if i die here?" and leaping up on the drum kit. The Chavs were won over, they actually cheered as if Arsenal had just won the European Cup. One lone voice cried out " You suck" whereby Marco offered the heckler the chance of a broken nose. The angry punter approached the stage to the amusement of the watching crowd who by now were totally on White Man Kamikaze's side of the fence. The band went into another number as the abusive fellow was ejected from the venue by capable bouncers. As the song ended, the Chavs cried out for more but the plugs were pulled and the DJ dropped Ghostbusters theme tune into the CD player.
