We've been searching high & low again for interesting records to offer you! This month we have new 7" singles from Sheffield's finest The Yell, Leeds faves The Playmates and an album from Being 747. We've another great 7" mini album from Sarandon and a mini album on 7" from twee-core newcomers The Bobby McGees. Finally we've fine singles from Leaving The Fold and Large Number and The Clerks. Don't forget we still have copies of our latest limited edition 7" releases from The Mardy Bums and Monkey Swallows The Universe. All available from our website
Radio Play!
Our latest set of releases have had quite a bit of national radio play (for us anyway) in the last few weeks. Steve Lamacq (Radio1) and Marc Riley (6Music) both gave the Monkey Swallows The Universe single and The Mardy Bums single a spin, while Mark Radcliff(Radio2) played MSTU as well. Also, Steve Lamacq praised our electronica compilation album Thee Sheffield Radiophonic Workshop before playing the final track on the album, "Thee SRW" on his Lamacq Live show. Add to that another session for MSTU on John Kennedy's XFM show this week and I think we can all be reasonably smug.
Reviews!
Our latest trio of release have gained som fascinating reviews of late. Our electronica compilation album Thee Sheffield Radiophonic Workshop has been widely praised (for which we are deeply thankful) and the MSTU single "Science" was, predictably, very warmly received. On the other hand, The Mardy Bums single has been roundly and severely criticised! Some of these reviews are a joy to read. Google for them, if you have a spare moment. Also, both our 7" releases were recently slated by NME cover stars The Horrors on Playlouder, bless.
