So being a passing fan of the band for years, I decided "Best of Luna" would be worth checking out. And I was right. The CD compiles perfectly that dreamy sound Luna is known for, and includes several tracks from the band’s best know album “Penthouse.”
It’s a well-done retrospective, and a nice farewell to the one of great indie bands of our time.
So, being in a 'Luna mood', I also watched the band's documentary “Tell Me Do You Miss Me” that just came out on DVD. It follows the indie rockers on the road through their final tour. There is some great footage of the band in Europe and Japan, as well as some nice live show footage. The music documentary touches the personal side of the band on the road together and ultimately their sad end, as they decide that this will be the last tour together.
Visually appealing, the bittersweet film shows the melancholic side of life on the road and the final days for this under-appreciated indie band. Both CD and DVD are definitely worth checking out!
