This is what SoundsXP said about the Rhesus single:
Sarf London humanitarians (they just curated the G-Spot Festival fund-raiser for tsunami victims), Rhesus obviously boast a spiffingly fine collection of British punk records, peppered with The Ramones and NY Dolls; and what halcyon days to revel in. The anthemic call to arms Art Is Dead is a visceral slice of Ruts/Upstarts mania, backed by the Buzzcockiness of Too Weak and the wonderfully-titled Eat Your Own Young, a brutal punch-up between art-punksters Wire and primordial Slits. Full-blooded and rhesus positive. Their record deal was inked on the back of drummer Arran’s dole book; how punk is that? The single’s out now on Spinach, and you all know what spinach did for Popeye. (Graham S, Jan 30, 2005.)Statistics: Posted by arran — Fri Mar 11, 2005 7:42 pm
