2. Any authority figure arriving on scene of crime. "I'm in charge now and it's going to be done by the book. We don't need mavericks like you, [insert name of action hero], screwing things up."
Much later: authority figure gets whacked by criminal. Maverick hero wipes them all out in his own fashion. Possibly thumps a TV reporter too.

racing through congested city - cross roads - lights are red - criminal and cop both swerve through seemingly impossible gap but cars travelling at normal speed in other direction lose control, skid and crash into each other - camera cuts to face of cop in car with sweat on brow - phew that was close!
