sub-headline: "What if the Strokes had been born in Wigan?"
When Moco's 'Out to Go' is fully erect - see 'She's Fine', in which Lou Reed and Julian Casablancas spit-roast Robert Palmer's 'Addicted to Love' while you crouch in the corner pretending not to masturbate - it's capable of feats of magnificent scuzziness. Unfortunately, it's equally likely to stumble headlong into garage rock 'n'roll caricature, as in 'Early Liz Hurley', performed here by Iggy and The Three Stooges. Persevere, however, exceed the recommended daily dosage further still and you'll eventually attain a Zen-like understanding of the basic principles of Moco-motion, at which point the ghosts of The Monkees ('Moco Loco'), Gary Glitter ('Miss Mantaray') and The Specials ('Where She Goes') dance jerkily forth from the swamp of clattersome '68 noise. Having initially struggled to get its Moco working, 'Out to Go' then explodes like an elephant in a microwave, leaving you nauseous, confused and desperate to make it happen again.
