TAKEN FROM INAUDIBLE MAGAZINE

How would you describe your sound?
Berlin Bowie, meets Hunky Dory Bowie in a pub, they get drunk and have a jam with Peter Sellers and Chuck Berry.

Who would you want to produce your album?
I think Dave Fridmann could have some fun with us, or John Cale if he was still mental. Brian Wilson, Steve Albini, Gorwel Owen, Dr. Dre, Tony Visconti.

How would you describe your typical fan?
A hairy individual, who seems at first glance a nice, "normal" person, who through the course of an evening will end up either arrested or asleep on a garage roof. They are also very fanatical in nature, and by the end of the night don't know where they live. Good People!

Biography
We formed about a year ago in the current 6 piece extravaganza, played a few gigs in little local places to friends and family and non-friends, and people who were friends but now aren't and people who weren't friends but now are....
We then played a gig at Manchester Roadhouse, our first one outside of Sunny Tellins or Wigan and got reviewed on teletext and impressed one person enough to make him want to manage us.
After a few more gigs in Manchester and Liverpool we branched out a bit, made some more friends, went on the radio and stuff.
We had a little interest off labels and people in the biz but nothing major. Then we were approached by 2 managers who were fresh from managing The Maybes and we signed up with them. We are still friends with the old manager, he has nice eyes.
Now we're just gigging to death and getting some more tunes together... we also have a minibus now, it is red and we call it "Slut".
We make music that friends have said is like some of the following: Bowie, Beach Boys, Madness, Django Reinhardt, SFA... WTL likes to call it RATM mixed with Echobelly for reasons he won't explain. There is someone in Manchester who thinks we sound like Bob "Misery Guts" Dylan, we think this guy hasn't heard us yet...
We're aiming for a debut EP release later this year, and if all goes well then you should see a Loungs album next year. We will also be playing Glastonbury in 2007 in some form, we are trying to get Bowie to play Sax for us. His lawyer seems optimistic.

TAKEN FROM 'SOUNDS FROM THE OTHER CITY' FESTIVAL REVIEW - MANCHESTERMUSIC.CO.UK

THE LOUNGS though, have got to be the best surprise and certainly the best new act to emerge from tonights proceedings. Despite a four band gap between them and the Deadbeats, their heady blend of Americana, the indie bliss of bands like The Housemartins and of course the Merseys 21st Century New Wave, is pretty astounding. Happy go lucky tunes are played with unconcerned abandon, but so naturally timed and executed too. They look good, all beards and a casual rattle, dish up a catalogue of enjoyable and sunny tunes.

"A unique sound that the world simply must hear more of." - STAR

"No one would have guessed how magical this band were going to be...
with four singers harmonising within an inch of their lives and a barnstorming party vibe, they could take the same route as The Earlies." - TELETEXT

"Don't be fooled though, their sound is by no means silly, nor are their songs throw-away eccentric tunes. They are beautifully crafted mini epics that take you further than any other outfit out there at the moment. With tracks like the immensly catching 'Armageddon Outta Here' , the obvious career starter 'Cats' that has all the energy and song structure to take them far, and the beautifully heartfelt 'Throughout It All', it is hard to argue about these lads getting somewhere, with or without major production. - RETAIL RODEO MAGAZINE

"Tight as a Herrings Arse, right from the beginning, no distortion. Just pure harmony and playful tune, filling the room." - PHANTOM-POWER.COM

"Have a playful onstage spirit and a musical inventiveness that makes them hard to dislike." - MERSEYMUSIC.ORG

"Sound like a kids TV show theme-tune, quite innocent until you hear the lines ‘I won’t miss you when you're dead’ and ‘I’m going to take your girl away from you’." - HONEY RECORDS

(the man not the music style) while Reed supplies the music?

P.S - I think Lungs is a good name for a band...
