I am NOT saying that YOU fine people on here who promote gigs and don't make money are scummy music business types.
I AM saying that the MAJORITY of people involved in the music business are there purely to make money out of it.
I am NOT saying you people are being naive in doing it for the LOVE of music.
I AM saying that to believe that the MAJORITY of people involved in music promotion are in it for the love of music IS naive!
Kudos to all of you who put on cheap gigs with the intention of supporting small bands, and using any money you make investing in more gigs. You do an excellent job obviously, but you have to accept that you are totally in the minority. If you think most promoters are just like you, then you are sorely mistaken.
Have I cleared that up now? Or do I have to rant again? Please read what I have written before going on the offensive!
