It reminds me, though, of that debate a few years ago about possible alternatives to the penalty shoot out as a way of resolving a deadlocked game.
I like the one of removing a player from each team every 5 minutes during extra time until a goal is scored. So the game becomes more stretched as it goes on meaning a deciding goal is more likely. In theory, you could get down to a 3 v 3, for example, on a full size pitch. Fantastic
