The production on the debut offering from Brooklyn’s the Affair may be cheap and cheerful but this seems to only add to the immense appeal of the two tracks. With drums to the fore, A-side Andy is a wonderfully infectious bitter sweet effort that bobs and weaves somewhere between kitsch 60s girlpop and strident late 70s New York nu-wave. Meanwhile b-side Anything but Disco is more Plastic Letters era Blondie, its catchy organ driven chorus coming resplendent with handclaps. More please!
