Domino’s Orange Juice compilation last year was called ‘The Glasgow School’. That fine institution is still turning out graduates, the latest being Bricolage, whose mighty debut single is released as a white vinyl 7” and download. They’ve got the '81 Postcard sound – sharp guitars and soulful, precise rhythm section – but they play with such joy it sounds right NOW! ‘Footsteps’ is infectious like Ebola, its ringing guitars and fluid tones inspiring you to dance, sing and shag - at once. ‘Flowers of Deceit’ on the flipside is taut with skittering guitars, fearsome bass and a very Scottish black humour. They’re an amazing live act which, on this evidence, translates just as well to record. This is the real buzz of the summer – go back to school and discover Bricolage.
